Terms of service
The agreement between you and DTX Studios for using ShowHaven. Written to be understood — if a clause below is unclear, that is our failure and we would like to hear about it.
Last updated 4 August 2026.
1. What ShowHaven is
ShowHaven is a parental-control tool for adults. You approve specific shows; your child's device displays only those; tapping one opens the streaming service that carries it, on that title.
The account, the subscription and every decision in it are yours. A child does not sign up, does not agree to these terms, and cannot change what you have set. They use the result.
ShowHaven is not a streaming service and never plays video itself. We do not host, stream, re-encode, cache or wrap anyone's content. You need your own active subscriptions to Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Max, Paramount+, Peacock or whichever services carry the shows you approve. Nothing you pay us includes access to any of them.
2. Who may use it
You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of any child you create a profile for. The account is yours; the child profiles are yours to create, edit and delete.
3. Your account and PIN
Keep your password and parent PIN to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
The PIN is a short number and is stored on the child's device so it keeps working without internet. It is a real barrier against a child and it is not a security boundary against an adult holding your unlocked tablet. Please choose it with that in mind.
4. What we can and cannot enforce
This is the clause most worth reading, and we would rather over-explain it than have you discover it later.
ShowHaven runs on top of Android and the streaming apps. How well it can keep a child on an approved show depends on the device, the Android version, the permissions you grant, and how each streaming app behaves — none of which we control.
- Guided — your child sees only approved shows, and can still leave a streaming app and browse it themselves.
- Locked — additionally, leaving an approved show brings them back to their own grid, and Home returns there too.
The app tells you which of these a given device is actually delivering, and says so plainly when it cannot enforce something rather than showing a switch that does nothing.
We do not promise that a determined child cannot get out. Restrictions can be defeated by a child who reaches Android's own settings, clears the app's data, or uninstalls it. ShowHaven reduces what a young child stumbles into. It is not a substitute for supervision and must not be relied on as one.
5. Streaming services and trademarks
Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Max, Paramount+, Peacock and every other service named in ShowHaven are trademarks of their respective owners. ShowHaven is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any of them. We name them only to say truthfully which service carries a show.
Those services can change their apps, links or terms at any time, and sometimes that breaks a link ShowHaven relies on. We fix these as fast as we find them, and reporting one to support@showhaven.tv genuinely helps. Your use of each service remains governed by that service's own terms.
6. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Use ShowHaven to break any streaming service's terms of service
- Attempt to make ShowHaven play, download, copy or redistribute content
- Resell or sublicense access to ShowHaven
- Attack, overload or probe our systems, other than good-faith security research reported to security@showhaven.tv
- Use another family's account
7. Subscriptions and billing
ShowHaven has a Free tier that stays free, and a paid Family tier. Prices and what each includes are on the pricing page.
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your card details. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled, and Google Play's own terms govern the payment itself.
The Free tier requires no payment details and does not expire. Nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe to Family.
8. Cancelling
Cancel any time in Google Play. There is no minimum term and no annual lock-in. You keep the paid features until the end of the month already paid for, then drop to Free.
Your grid keeps working. The shows you approved stay approved and still open; the lockdown features switch off. We will not lock a child out of their shows because a payment failed.
Because you keep what you paid for until the period ends, we do not generally give partial refunds — but if something went genuinely wrong, email us and we will sort it out.
9. If we shut down
Small subscription products disappear, and you deserve to know the terms before you subscribe rather than after. If ShowHaven closes:
- You get 30 days' notice by email
- Billing stops immediately — no further charges from the moment notice goes out
- Paid features run to the end of any month already paid for
- The shows you approved keep working on the device, because the grid is stored locally and does not need us to be running
- We will make reasonable efforts to leave a free version working rather than switch it off
These are commitments, not marketing.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. It is immediate and irreversible — see what gets deleted.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 6, or where we are required to by law. Except in cases of abuse or legal necessity, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.
11. Changes to the service and these terms
ShowHaven will change — features get added, and occasionally something a streaming service breaks has to be removed. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, or that changes these terms in a way that affects your rights, we will email you before it takes effect.
12. Warranties and liability
ShowHaven is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it reliable and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every deep link will always work — streaming services change things without telling us.
To the fullest extent the law allows, DTX Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to ShowHaven is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot legally be excluded, and some jurisdictions do not allow these limits — in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and DTX Studios agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to ShowHaven will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and both of us consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you are a consumer, this does not take away any right you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the place you actually live — including the right to bring a claim there where local law gives you that right.
